Whimsy in the Country

People are amazingly creative, especially when they fashion their individual stamp on their homes or properties…I took the following photos as my husband and I traveled along Rt. 14 A near Voluntown, Connecticut.

The first I call “Flower Bed” for obvious reasons

The second is a giant oil cannister some 20 feet high (made out of left-over aluminum or tin?) with dipping spout poised over a pond on the owner’s property. They’ve added a patriotic touch, too, by embellishing it with the flag.

Both made us smile……
