Lost Your Job? You’re in Good Company….

(Iconic figure who co-founded Apple, Steve Jobs. Photo compliments of Wikimedia.)

Steve Jobs resigned (was fired) from Apple, the very company he co-founded, an event that he now calls pivotal in that it ushered in the most creative and productive period of his life. During that time, he created NeXT and Pixar (You know–”Toy Story,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille.”) When Apple bought NeXT in 1996, Jobs came back in and ultimately resumed lead of the company, bringing it to its present success.

Jobs’s life is fascinating. He was put up for adoption by his single American grad. student mother (father was Syrian) and was adopted by a couple in California. His machinist father introduced him to the world of mechanics. Jobs dropped out of Reed College after one semester but continued to take courses that piqued his interest: Calligraphy was one. How did that play out in his future? That introduction led to his creation of the font for Apple.

Perhaps there are no accidents. Embrace your difficulties: They’re almost always plateaus on which you regroup, reassess, and climb higher….Just Biddy’s note of encouragement. Send this post along to others who might be struggling, so they can know the company they keep.
