“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.

….Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” (Chinese proverb)

Starting early, and learning from Grandpa, little grandson Finn employs techniques he’s been taught, pumping up bicycle tires, in maintenance mode. Grandpa merely takes kids’ natural inclination to do things and harnesses it. It makes all the difference. That way he doesn’t have to keep at ’em, saying “Don’t do this”…and “don’t do that.”

Take their curiosity and let them “Do things,” but first, teach them “How.” In other words, teach them how to fish.

And here are the 3 little grandsons, Sam, Luke, and Finn, learning how to wash the Biddy-Mobile. Does this look like child labor? C’mon, you know how we kids always wanted to work at other peoples’ homes (but not our own)?Biddy strongly believes in child labor (under a watchful, benevolent eye, of course.)
